The Funny Farm at Ballybannon Road, Castlewellan, was the venue for the annual church Barbecue on Friday 11th August, when approximately 130 attended.
The picturesque setting in the beautiful Mourne countryside with the sun shining, made it the perfect spot for a lovely evening of fun and fellowship.
As families and friends arrived from 6.00 pm onwards, barbecues were busy, and soon burgers, baps, sausages and salads followed by a great variety of desserts, was available for all.
Children and young people (and some not so young) made the most of the activities provided on the farm and, although a lovely dry evening, some managed to end in a soggy state!!
As darkness came down a move was made from outdoors to indoors, where the evening continued with a time of praise in the barn. Abbots Cross Musical Group presented a varied programme, including slots for all to join in singing some familiar Gospel Hymns mixed with more modern ones, the words clearly projected on screen.
A very enjoyable evening was brought to a close with Prayer about 10.30.
