Ballynahinch Congregational held its annual Remembrance Sunday service on the morning of 8th November. The minister, the Rev Victor Neil, conducted the service and the bugler was Mr Stephen Wilson. A poppy wreath was laid at the Church’s war memorial, constructed from stone from the old Ballynahinch War Memorial, which the Church had been greatly responsible for.
The wreath was laid by Mrs Marie Calvert and her husband Wilbur. Marie, a local lady and a member of the Church, is to receive her 60th year brooch to add to her previous recognitions for faithfully selling poppies each year.
